However, as the Director of Career Development, Ardan's responsibilities at the law school are very different from that of student. Instead of focusing on coursework and personal goals, Ardan is now committed to guiding students and alumni on the path to a fulfilling future in law. Her specialty areas include judicial clerkships, business development, programming, career counseling, resume and cover letter drafting, and management.
In addition to her experience as a law student, Ardan also brings ample business and law firm experience to her job. From 1999 to 2002, she worked in the staffing and recruiting industry with the Kelly Law Registry as the Director of Business Development/ Placement Director. This position involved the marketing of legal staffing services, maintaining open communication with clients, and recruiting quality attorneys for placement. Additionally, she provided resume assistance and interview preparation services to job candidates.
She spent almost a year and a half as an associate with the litigation firm, Banks Shapiro Gettinger & Waldinger, LLP in New York. During this time she was primarily involved in matters concerning medical malpractice but also handled legal issues for condominiums and homeowners' associations.
Ardan also spent more than two years at the New York law firm Ford Marrin Esposito Witmeyer & Gleser, LLP, where she dealt largely with environmental insurance matters.
She graduated cum laude from St. John's University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fordham University.
