NY law firm bans disabled client from bringing service dog into its office
Larkin Axelrod Ingrassia & Tetenbaum, a Newburgh, NY based personal injury law firm is being sued by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. One of the partners in that law firm refused to let a disabled client enter their law offices twice. The reason – she had a service dog. Lauren Klejmont, the client, says that she needs her service dog which helps her get up when she falls and also assist her with picking up dropped items. Bharara said that lawyers should know better than to so flagrantly violate such a well-established law.
