Sandberg earned his JD from William Mitchell College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri. Following law school, he worked with a major firm where he practiced commercial litigation and real estate litigation.

Sandok graduated from Syracuse University College of Law and has practiced as a commercial litigator in New York and Minnesota.

Sandberg and Sandok offer candidates and clients a confidential and informed search process. Sand Search Partners selects a new charity to receive a percentage of its gross revenue each year. For 2011, the firm has chosen Children's HeartLink, an organization that collaborates with healthcare providers to provide sustainable pediatric cardiac services to those in underserved areas.
