Legal sector loses 3,900 jobs in June.

Pasadena, CA — According to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the legal sector has lost 3,900 jobs in June. In the last twelve months, it has lost around 22,000 jobs.

Last month, the National Association for Law Placement also reported that the class of 2010 was going to have lower employment numbers than the class before it. The exact figures will not be known till May 2011, when the institute's official report will be released. Law schools are trying out various ways to help their graduates. Duke University's by-now famous ''Bridge to Practice'' program pays employers to hire fresh Duke law graduates so as to give them some real-world experience. While University of Michigan's law school has posted a job offer from an LPO (Legal Process Outsourcing), the first major law school to do so publicly.

For law students concerned about finding jobs after graduation LawCrossing CEO, A. Harrison Barnes has a few words of advice. ''In this economy, be ready to take jobs from smaller firms, even if they are in rural regions. Getting experience is the most important thing right now. There are jobs available for new graduates, junior associates and even partnership positions listed on our site.'' Barnes's company has been able to track down over 11,000 legal jobs in the last seven days.
