How to Apply for the New Hampshire Bar Exam

by Silas Reed

When you have the right education, and you are ready to become a member of the bar association in New Hampshire, there are several steps that you are going to have to follow to make sure that you will be able to apply for the New Hampshire bar exam in the right way. First of all, you are going to need to take a close look at the New Hampshire Supreme Court Rule 42. This helps you know what it means to be admitted to the state bar, and it will help you figure out whether you are going to be eligible to take the bar exam in the first place.

If you have reviewed the rule and you think that you are going to be eligible to take the bar exam, your next step is going to be to look at the State of New Hampshire website. This is where you can download the application for the bar exam. There are also forms that accompany the bar exam application that you’ll need to fill out. Be sure that you have all of the forms downloaded and printed, because you cannot start to get the right bar exam set up if you don’t have the right paperwork.

You want to be sure that you fill out the information on the applications and on the other forms as soon as you can. There are deadlines that you’ll have to meet—December 1 if you want to take the exam in February, and May 1 if you want to take the exam in July.

There are several forms that you’ll need to fill out and complete before you are ready to take the bar exam. These will include the application, the petition, and the questionnaire. There is also a certification form, as well as an authorization and release form. You’ll want to be sure that the application for the New Hampshire Bar Exam, as well as the petition and questionnaire that comes from the Bar of New Hampshire is there. The certification form and the authorization and release form are also two important parts of the puzzle if you want to have everything ship shape and ready for the actual bar exam.

As you complete your information and the forms, you will want to double check them and then check them again to be sure that you have all of the needed information filled out and take care of. Remember, this could take some time to complete, so you’ll want to get started on it as soon as you can. Also, you will also want to get the forms notarized and keep a photocopy of all of the application materials for your own records.

When you are ready to apply for the New Hampshire bar exam, you’ll want to attach the copy of your application (the notarized application) and the fee that is required, as well as a passport photo, to a file. You’ll also want to include your college and law school diplomas in the application. A good idea would also be to attach a photocopy of everything.

You should then mail the entire packet to the Office of the Clerk of Court, located in the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Be sure that you mail the applications well within the deadlines.

Remember to include references, and these should not be related to you by blood or by marriage. Be sure to notify your references that they will be contacted.
