Initial Years
Andy was born in Philadelphia, PA, on October 13, 1957. He received his BA in Political Science (magna cum laude) in 1979 and J.D. (cum laude) in 1982 from the University of Michigan. Later he received his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego in 1985. Andy is admitted to practice in California, New York, and also before the United States Tax Court.
Highly-Regarded Trusts and Estates Lawyer
With more than 25 years of trusts-and-estates experience, Andy joined Proskauer Rose LLP's Los Angeles office in July 2008 as a partner in its Personal Planning Department and as a member of its Fiduciary Litigation Practice Group. He previously served as partner in Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP's Los Angeles office.

Adjunct Faculty at UCLA Law School
Being extremely passionate about his practice, Andy started teaching Estate Tax to UCLA students in 1989. He has also taught in the Graduate Tax Program of the University of San Diego and Golden Gate University, and is a frequent lecturer to the Los Angeles County, Beverly Hills, and California State Bar Associations. A member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Andy has also participated in the USC Tax Institute and the USC Probate and Trust Law Conference.

Andy has contributed numerous articles in various magazines, including Estate Planning Magazine, the Journal of Taxation, and Taxes Magazine. He also presented a weekly radio talk show Principal of the Matter on KFNX, where he attended to various estate-planning issues. He was one of the principal contributors to the probate treatise Marshall and Garb on Probate.

Andy was recently listed as one of the ''Top 100 Attorneys'' in Worth Magazine. He has also been recognized in 2004, 2005, and 2006 as a ''Southern California Super Lawyer in Estate Planning and Trusts'' in Los Angeles Magazine and Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine. Additionally, he has also been included in the Best Lawyers in America in the field of Trusts & Estates Law.
