A U.K. publication announced survey results revealing the top money-making firms in the U.S. and U.K. In 2007, Skadden was at the top of the list in litigation revenue, generating around $901 million, which is about 45% of the firm's $2 billion total revenue. Skadden's revenue per lawyer was $1.33 million, but Cravath topped the charts at $1.69 million. Cravath also had the highest revenue per partner at $8.45 million.

New Tessera GC Under High Pressure
Bernard "Barney" Cassidy, who was announced as the new GC of the semiconductor packaging company Tessera Inc., will be front and center as the new GC. This is no ordinary GC position, as the San Jose, California company lives and dies by licensing and litigating its patents. Presently, Tessera is suing a slew of companies for patent infringement. In 2007, Tessera brought in $159 million from royalties and licensing.
