Blake Hall: Chief Counsel for the GOP
Blake Hall: Chief Counsel for the GOP
Blake Hall is the current chief counsel for the GOP.
Blake Hall was born and brought up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. While growing up, he always had a passion to see justice done and developed a great interest in legal matters. After graduating from high school, he decided to attend George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he ultimately decided to study law. In 1979, he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from the same university.

Hall learned a great deal from his time in law school. As a law student, he had the opportunity to work for James McClure, who was then a US senator. Hall specialized in a variety of areas, including administrative and civil litigation, local and municipal government law, and defense law. Besides being a licensed legal counsel, Hall is also a registered lobbyist, representing the interests of his clients before the legislature in Idaho.

As noted above, Hall has played an active role in the Republican Party for many years. He was first nominated for the position of sergeant at arms in 1999 by the then-chairman of the Republican National Committee, Jim Nicholson. At the time of his nomination, he was already a committeeman for the state party in Idaho. He subsequently accepted the sergeant at arms position for the party’s national convention in Philadelphia in 2000. His job as sergeant at arms involved, among other things, ensuring that the planned activities for the convention proceeded smoothly.

In March 2007, Hall was appointed the counsel for the Republican National Committee. Announcing the appointment, the chairman of the RNC stated that Hall would be good fit for the position, as he not only has in-depth knowledge of both legal and political matters but also has vast experience in both fields. The chairman noted that for the party to be able to provide effective services to the country, it was important that it follow all the provisions of the law to the letter. According to the chairman, Blake and his team would ensure that this is done.

Hall is married and has six children. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, golfing, snowmobiling, and hunting.
