05/29/07 Skadden chooses Contact Networks' relationship-management solution Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, and Affiliates has partnered with Contact Networks to enhance its relationship network, which supports its business development and client service. The corporate social-networking solution will help the law firm instantaneously map its lawyers' relationships to the firm's clients and new opportunities. ContactNet provides leverage to existing workflow by studying internal CRM systems, email traffic patterns, and electronic address books to discover and measure the strength of relationships. Contact Networks' enterprise relationship management software will serve the firm's 1,600 attorneys working from 22 offices across the globe. ContactNet will also cater to Skadden's data-security and personal-privacy needs. Ellis, Ged & Bodden: a Renaissance law firm South Florida-based Ellis, Ged & Bodden, P.A., recently opened a satellite office on the west coast of Florida. It has initiated a title company, 1st Florida Title, and a mortgage brokerage firm, 1st Florida Mortgage. Apart from these recent activities, the firm traditionally sponsors a YMCA softball team and supports its local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. Staff outings are also common at the firm. Comprised of more than 60 staff members, Ellis Ged is also working on revamping its Internet presence by redesigning its website. The new website will be configured to optimize search-engine performance. Metastorm announces availability of NBI Process Pod Metastorm has released a New Business Intake (NBI) Process Pod for the legal arena. The solution must be deployed via the Metastorm BPM(R) software suite. It facilitates the handling of critical tasks pertaining to screening new clients and new business issues and managing potential conflicts. Metastorm's NBI Process Pod provides an "auditable environment for compliance and risk management," more visibility of and control over important information, and superior productivity and collaboration across the firm's offices. It also allows the firm to quickly initiate new revenue-generating tasks and helps the firm with building and maintaining new and existing client relationships. Metastorm is a leading provider of business process management (BPM) software. The Parrish Law Firm launches new website The Parrish Law Firm has launched a new website for its personal injury division. Through the new marketing channel, the firm will provide information on its specialty areas; its personal injury division focuses on automobile accident-related, medical-malpractice, and product-liability lawsuits. The firm aims at catering to clients in Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC, metropolitan region and utilizing its experience to advocate the rights of harmed individuals and defend top insurance corporations. The move follows an entire redesign of the firm's traffic division website. Lawyers at this boutique firm also work on matters pertaining to traffic defense, civil litigation, and appeals. Batson Nolan hires associate Batson, Nolan, Williamson, Pearson & Miller has added Gary F. Baumann as an associate. Although he will be in general practice, Baumann will primarily work on probate, environmental, corporate, and land-use law. He will also advise clients on criminal defense matters such as courts-martial. Baumann, who is licensed to practice in Missouri and Tennessee, is a retired lieutenant colonel. Apart from spending 20 years with the U.S. Marine Corps, he has served as a judge, an advocate, and an infantry officer. A J.D. from Drake University in Iowa, Baumann has also earned a Master of Laws degree with an emphasis on environmental law from the University of San Diego. LeBoeuf Lamb hires prominent trial lawyer from Mayer Brown LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae has announced that prominent trial lawyer Alan Salpeter has joined the Chicago office of the law firm. Salpeter comes from Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, where he was one of the highest-grossing partners. He represents leading banks and accounting firms in corporate litigation. Salpeter is presently representing Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in connection with the Enron Corporation matter. The move will provide leverage to the firm's business in Chicago.
