04/26/07 As a legal professional, you are probably familiar with Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. If you aren't, it's time to become familiar. The popular Adult Swim television show named after and featuring Harvey Birdman has now teamed up with Capcom Entertainment to offer fans an interactive Harvey Birdman video game. The game will be released this fall and will be compatible with PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable (PSP) systems.
While he is usually dubbed as a criminal defense attorney, Birdman has also been known to tackle civil litigation.
"Combining Capcom's adventure game expertise with Adult Swim's Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law characters is an ideal match," Jack Symon, Director of Marketing for Capcom said in an article on www.gaming-age.com. "Capcom will be providing the game design direction while Harvey Birdman show writers will be assisting in bringing the stories to life with their unique brand of humor."
Instead of the game being based on a challenge that requires some sort of battle in order to win, the game that Capcom is developing will be more of an interactive game in which the player takes Birdman through the various cases he has on his agenda. Throughout the game, Birdman will explore crime scenes, wine and dine opposing council, converse with other people, gather evidence and information, and put together his case, no matter how strange the case may be.
"With Capcom's past success in the legal game-play arena, working with them to bring Harvey Birdman to a whole new platform was the perfect verdict for both companies," Christina Miller, Vice President of Consumer Products for Cartoon Network Enterprises, said in the article on www.gaming-age.com. "Fans should really enjoy being in control of the barely controllable legal 'eagle' Harvey Birdman."
The full series of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law first aired in 2001. Since then it has gained a legion of followers, and it's currently in its fourth season on the Cartoon Network's late night adult programming schedule, Adult Swim.
According to Wikipedia, Harvey Birdman is an ex-superhero and an attorney at a major law firm. While he is usually dubbed as a criminal defense attorney, Birdman has also been known to tackle civil litigation.
