A couple of months into the program, Coolidge began observing a reference librarian at Western New England College School of Law (her alma mater) to fulfill a program requirement. The reference librarian knew of an open position at Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas and encouraged Coolidge to apply for it.
"My question to her was, 'Why would they hire me? I haven't even finished my first semester of graduate school,'" Coolidge said. "And she said, 'It won't matter in that setting. You know enough about legal research that they'll just love you.' So, it was like, 'Okay, can't hurt to try.' And that's how I was guided into it."
Coolidge loves her new position and does not regret her change of profession.
"This is just so much more fun because I'm treated very well here, and people respect my education and my ability. And I am learning a lot about various areas of law that I had never practiced in because I'm asked to do research in [those areas]. So, it's really just so much pleasure for me."
