Douglas P. Lobel has been named as partner in Cooley Godward, LLP's business litigation practice in Reston, VA, expanding the firm's East Coast litigation practice. He will primarily work on complex contract and commercial litigation matters. Lobel was most recently senior partner at Arnold & Porter, LLP's litigation group and has expertise in the areas of complex litigation, class-action lawsuits, and arbitrations. Three new private equity partners in Goodwin Procter's Washington, DC, office

Accolades for Proskauer Rose
International law firm Proskauer Rose has been recognized for outstanding achievement in the latest edition of Chambers USA. Individual attorney rankings have increased 30%, and practice rankings have risen by 25%. Law firms to merge
Klett Rooney Lieber and Buchanan Ingersoll are in the midst of merger talks, and a number of lawyers within the two firms are reported to have expressed dissatisfaction over the proceedings. According to some sources, some attorneys may be opting out of the combined entity. Recent surveys indicate that, assuming that the merger goes through without any major drain in personnel, the combined strength of the new firm would make it the largest in Pennsylvania, overtaking Reed Smith, the current leader in manpower resources.
