05/30/06 Governor of Missouri hires new GC The Governor of Missouri, Matt Blunt, has appointed Jane Drummond, currently serving as General Counsel for the Department of Health and Senior Services, as his new General Counsel. Bringing an impressive legal background in both the public and private sectors, Drummond will replace Terry Jarrett, whom Blunt recently appointed to the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission. Capital Corp. appoints de la Pena as GC Richard de la Pena has been named the new Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Capital Corp. of the West, County Bank's parent company. He brings with him nearly 29 years of legal experience, which includes 20 years in the banking industry. In his new role, he will be responsible for complying with new laws and counseling the bank during the execution of any strategic plan. He has served the Union Safe Deposit Bank as Chief Legal Officer for nine years. John F. Weidenbruch—most recently Senior Director, Law Operations, Amgen—joins as General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary. Possessing extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Weidenbruch has served as Vice President, Global Commercial Operations, for ABI and Acting General Counsel for APP. Bristow Group announces new GC Bristow Group, Inc., a leading provider of production-management services for oil and gas industries, has appointed Randall A. Stafford Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary. Hughes, the Assistant General Counsel of LSI Logic Corporation, has been named the new Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of the company, following the retirement of David Pursel in April. Since 2000, Hughes has been handling corporate litigation matters and has negotiated numerous significant acquisitions in his tenure. Previously, he was with Harris Corporation as a Division Counsel. LSI Logic Corporation is known as a leader in providing "silicon-to-system" solutions used in digital information products. Knight Oil Tools introduces new GC Knight Oil Tools announces the appointment of Dean A. Cole as Vice President and General Counsel. He joins from the Lafayette, LA, office of Laborde & Neuner, where, as a partner, he looked after corporate civil litigation affairs. Specializing in admiralty, general liability, commercial, and corporate claims, Cole will provide corporate legal counsel to the Knight companies. Knight Oil Tools is the largest privately held rental tool provider to the oil and gas industry. Dilenge is new General Counsel at BIO Tom Dilenge has become Vice President and General Counsel in Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO). Well known for his management of complicated legal matters and considered a leading expert in public health emergency preparedness, Tom joined BIO in November 2005 as Deputy General Counsel and was Acting General Counsel since February this year.
