04/18/06 President Bush appoints Cooper as EEOC's GC Ronald S. Cooper has been appointed the new U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission General Counsel for a four-year term by President Bush. Currently a partner with Steptoe & Johnson, Cooper will fill the position which has been vacant since the former General Counsel Eric S. Dreiband resigned. Cooper resides in Virginia and has been an attorney at Steptoe for more than 30 years, practicing employment litigation. Cunnane joins ATV Deirdre Cunnane has joined Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV) as its General Counsel. Previously with BancBoston Ventures, Cunnane brings more than 16 years of legal experience in venture capital, investments, and private equity issues. At ATV, she will be involved with all legal activities regarding investments, fund management, and corporate matters. ATV is a bi-coastal venture capital firm with more than $1.4 billion in capital and invests in information technology and healthcare companies. Andrew Corporation appoints new GC Andrew Corporation has appointed Justin C. Choi as the new Vice President and General Counsel in its Westchester, IL, office. Choi will join the company's corporate department and will be responsible for the oversight and management of corporate and other legal matters. He previously served as Vice President at Avaya, a global provider of communication systems, and was responsible for the overall management of its corporate and securities law group. Andrew Corporation designs, manufactures, and delivers essential equipment and solutions for the global communications infrastructure market in 35 countries. Levy is new assistant GC at CBL CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., has appointed David R. Levy as Assistant General Counsel. He will report to Senior Vice President and General Counsel Vickie Berghel. Previously with The May Department Stores Company, Levy has extensive experience in real estate, mergers and acquisitions, construction, litigation, corporate governance, and employment law. CBL is one of the largest and most experienced owners and developers of malls and shopping centers in the country. Simon Holdings announces new GC David Barnes, ex-Vice President and General Counsel of Venture Holdings Company, has joined Simon Holdings as General Counsel, effective immediately. Barnes will look after the company's contract negotiation, litigation, compliance, and acquisition matters. Simon Holdings, LLC, has operating companies like Atlas Oil Company and B&R Oil Company and is a leading distributor of petroleum products to commercial customers and service stations throughout the Midwest. ONEOK and Northern Border Partners revamp management structure ONEOK, Inc., and Northern Border Partners have completed a series of transactions that result in ONEOK owning 100 percent of the general partner interest and 45.7 percent of Northern Border Partners. ONEOK Senior Vice President and General Counsel John R. Barker has been given additional responsibilities as General Counsel and Secretary of the partnership. The general counsel of the partnership, Janet Place, has been named the General Counsel of Northern Border Pipeline and Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of the partnership.
