10/04/05 Bracewell & Giuliani adds three partners in New York Bracewell & Giuliani has added three partners in New York: two litigators from Chadbourne & Parke and one energy finance partner from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. The Houston-based firm now has 12 attorneys in New York. New York Law Journal Irell & Manella raises first-year associate salary Los Angeles firm Irell & Manella is raising its first-year associate salary to $135,000 next year, a $5,000 increase. So far, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges is the only Los Angeles firm that has announced that it will match the increase. The Recorder O'Melveny & Myers gains four partners in Tokyo O'Melveny & Myers is gaining four partners in its Tokyo office. Three of the partners are joining from Taiyo Law Office, the Japanese firm that recently merged with Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker. The fourth partner is joining from Watanabe Kokusai Law Office, along with six associates. The Recorder Rudy Giuliani's firm hired for Delta bankruptcy Delta Air Lines has paid a consulting firm of former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani $2.4 million and expects to pay it another $400,000 per month for advice on its Chapter 11 proceedings. The bills were disclosed in the airline's court filings. Law firms that Delta has retained in connection with the bankruptcy include Davis Polk & Wardwell; Stroock & Stroock & Lavan; Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Debevoise & Plimpton; Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker; and Hogan & Hartson, according to the filings. Fulton County Daily Report Dechert acquires 32 lawyers from Coudert Brothers Dechert is more than quadrupling its 9-lawyer Paris office with the acquisition of 32 lawyers from Coudert Brothers. Coudert's Paris office was founded in 1879 as the New York-based firm's first international office.
